-I've never bought a used car before, but I need to for my daughter who will be going to college this Fall. The car is dark red, with 34,000 miles on it. According to Carfax, the dealership obtained the car on May 15th, 2011. I've already asked a few questions about the car and the Internet Sales Manager responded. Should I deal with him with an offer or mention anything that will improve the chances of a good deal? With rebates, dealer discounts and low interest rates you can probably buy a brand new Mazda3 for not much more than you can purchase that certified used car.
You can probably reaslistically get $1000 maybe even $1500 knocked off that used car price as long as you have excellent credit. But you'll pay higher interest on the loan.
Before you make anyone an offer you need to go see the car, drive it and then, if you like it negotiate in person with the dealer.
