Question about negotiating price of used car?

-I'm looking at a used 2007 Pontiac G6 with 30,000 miles for 13,900 dollars... I plan on trading in my car for that... how much do you think they would negotiate the price? Do you think I could talk down to 13,000?Pick your price, the MOST you will pay. Let's call it 13,000 for now. Then pick a price you'd LIKE to get the car for, let's call it 12,000.

Offer them 12,000; be up front about it: "Give me the car for 12,000 off the lot and I'll sign the paperwork for you right now."

Maybe they'll take it, you never know; but probably not. As you go back and forth through the negotiation process just keep asking for less money. Eventually, if they won't budge, say you'll pay $13,000 for the car, OUT THE DOOR (don't let them add a ton of extra "dealer" fees for it) and if they won't take it, then walk away. Just walk away. There are other Pontiac G6's out there.
Most used car prices are negotiable. You should probably try and pay less than 13k. It also depends on what kind of car you're trading in, too.
Yes, a $900 discount shouldn't be hard to get. The real key is negotiating a good trade value for the car you plan on trading in.
